Job Description

Position Overview

Reporting to the Economic Development Officer as well as the Clerk, the Administrative Assistant will provide daily support to the Economic Development department, Museum and BIA functions. This role is vital to ensuring the coordination and execution of various events and functions throughout the year in conjunction with the BIA. The role also supports the museum in its writing and submitting financial grants. It plays a pivotal role in the day to day function of the Economic Development department. 

Specifically the incumbent will:

Provide administrative support to the Economic Development Officer
Carry out various duties as the BIA Coordinator under direction of the BIA Executive Board
Prepare and assist in the marketing, advertising, tourism and promotional themes, brochures and displays that support the goals for attracting and retaining retail and corporate business with the Town
Attends and acts as secretary to a variety of committees/boards associated with Economic Development
Maintain the database of Economic Development related information
Coordinate trade shows, conferences, workshops and seminars related to the Economic Development Department
Provide support in writing, reviewing and submitting grants for museum funding

Education RequirementPost Secondary Degree Experience Requirement

The Town of Ingersoll is seeking applicants with relevant administrative and event coordinator experience, preferably obtained in a rural municipal setting. To achieve success in this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate:

Demonstrated ability to be a team player who is able to establish effective working relationships with a variety of work groups
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work autonomously
Strong time management and organization skills and a demonstrated ability to apply them to event coordination

In addition to the above, applicants should possess:

A college diploma in Administration or other relevant program
At least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an municipal setting
Must possess and maintain a valid “G” Ontario driver’s license
A clear criminal record check.

The incumbent will be required to work outside and beyond norm hours of work including evenings and weekends.

Salary Details

We offer a competitive salary range: $48,375.60- $53,635.40 yearly (based on 35 hours/week), plus a comprehensive benefits package.
