Position Description

The Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock and District seeks community orientated individuals.  All Board Members are responsible for monitoring organizational performance to achieve the mission of the agency which is “to provide responsible guidance in the development of children in our community through companionship and mentoring with volunteers.”

Through leadership that transforms the lives of children, we continue to learn from what works best and what requires change.  Our first priority is to create the best possible mentoring environment. Members of the board and its standing committees play a vital role in the organization, setting its direction and ensuring the best possible outcomes for the families, children and youth we serve.

Candidates having background skills in one or more of the following areas are preferred but not required:  Accounting/Financial/Business; Advertising/Marketing; Children and Youth/ Social Services; Fundraising /Event Planning; Governance; Volunteer Leadership; Youth Leadership. 
All new board members receive orientation to the Association and a there is an ongoing process for board development.
