SOAR Mentor posted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock & District

Position Description

SOAR (Social Opportunities, Activities and Relationships) is a group mentoring program provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Woodstock & District to the children on the waiting list to be matched with their Big Brother or Big Sister. This is a short term program for those who would like to volunteer but are unable to commit to a long-term match. SOAR runs for 8-12 weeks, 2 hours per week, beginning at different times throughout the year. Volunteer mentors are matched with 2-3 children and will bring them to the pre-planned activities the agency has scheduled with community partners.

In the past, these programs have included; activities at Fanshawe Woodstock, touring Heart FM, horseback riding, archery, dance, golf, and much more!

There is nothing more rewarding than providing a child the opportunity to do something new and fun they otherwise may not have the chance to try!

If changing children's lives by hanging out with a few kids once per week for two hours doing exciting new activities sounds like fun to you - please contact Duen Daley (duen.daley@bigbrothersbigsisters.ca OR 519-537-6404) to get started!
