Job Description

The City of Woodstock is a rapidly growing community with the need for at least 5 new Family Physicians. These are FHO opportunities with support from the Thames Valley FHT. Woodstock offers a supportive family physician and specialist environment with quick access to allied health professionals. We will support you in building your practice to suit your needs!

Woodstock General Hospital is a new (2011), state-of-the-art, 178 bed capacity, full-service community hospital providing primary care to a population of 55,000 people and specialized care to nearly 110,000 within the County of Oxford. Opportunities are available for inpatient care, OR assist, and newborn coverage if interested (but not required). Optional ER shifts are also available at the nearby Alexandra Hospital (10 min away).

Woodstock, with its tree-lined streets and century-old homes, is known as ‘The Friendly City’. It’s a rapidly growing city of just over 40,000. Conveniently located at the intersection of Highways 401 and 403, it easily commutable from London, Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford, or Hamilton. The over 350 hectares of parks and trails, recreational facilities, as well as a strong sense of community, make Woodstock a great place to live and raise a family. Woodstock is also home to a campus of Fanshawe College and there are 5 major Universities within a one hour drive. While Toronto Pearson International Airport is only 120km away, Woodstock has even more convenient access to International airports in London, Hamilton, and Waterloo.
